TwoOne is Ghostpatrol’s favorite artist in Melbourne and one of mine as well. I went to TwoOne’s studio, which you will be able to see on FOR THE FUNK OF IT soon. Though, here are his works on the street. They are some of the most strikingly beautiful works of art in Melbourne.

Auguste Clown Gallery is the only place on the East coast of Australia that exhibits original fine art illustrations, low brow paintings, and pop surrealist masterworks. It’s run by Leigh Cornish, Melbourne’s top framer, who started the gallery in the front of his original store in order to showcase artworks that he loved and it just so happened that the artwork he loved wasn’t being shown anywhere else. Which, is something we take for granted in Los Angeles, where there’s a gallery on every corner. YAY!

Elizabeth Thompson was a badass! She was painting epic pieces like this one back in 1875 and carving out a huge place for women in the history of art. She also lived to ripe old age of 87. During a time when the average life expectancy of an adult was 50-something.
